Marshall is a small historical village located in Virginia’s beautiful northern Piedmont. Named after John Marshall, the former United States Supreme Court Justice, Marshall is located in the rural Fauquier County. Its Main Street is located on Route 55 John Marshall Highway, between Route 17 and Freestate Roads. Children receive excellent education from the Fauquier County public schools. Marshall Middle School is a popular and unique school because it follows the schedule for Fauquier County’s elementary schools rather than its publics. Among the village’s historic buildings, the One Room School House PS17, which was the last one-room school to close in the 1960s, has been recently renovated and draws many visitors. Marshall’s oldest building, The Old Salem House, has a rich story to it which makes it an excellent spot for the family to explore. Marshall is truly a charming village which welcomes newcomers to settle down and feel right at home.
