Marshall Real Estate & Homes for Sale in Virginia
Marshall is a small historical village located in Virginia's beautiful northern Piedmont. Named after the former United States Supreme Court Justice John Marshall, the community can be found in rural Fauquier County. Real estate options consist of single-family homes, condominiums, townhouses, and land and lots available for custom building.
There has been a recent upsurge in size and growth and opportunities abound in its many businesses and cultural and recreational opportunities. In the past, Marshall was primarily an agricultural community, but there has been a recent demographic change due to the growth of Washington, D.C.'s sprawl. Many of the current residents work in D.C., as the commute from Marshall is not too significant. Centered on State Route 55 and U.S. Route 17, Marshall has two exits on Interstate 66. Its Main Street is located on Route 55 John Marshall Highway, between Route 17 and Freestate Roads.
Children receive excellent education from the Fauquier County Public Schools. Among the village's historic buildings, the One Room School House PS17, which was the last one-room school to close in the 1960s, has been recently renovated and draws many visitors. Marshall's oldest building, The Old Salem House, has a rich story to it which makes it an excellent spot for the family to explore.
Marshall is truly a charming village which welcomes newcomers to settle down and feel right at home.
